╫ How to wear Tzitzits? For women too? – All About Tzitzits (Part 2)

Hi … I am enjoying “binge-watching” your videos. Thank you for being faithful to Yah’s word in teaching on this subject. Many people don’t realize the importance of this, or associate it with other scriptures.

An important concept is APOLOGETICS, being able to explain truth FROM SCRIPTURE. So I want to share some fun facts for you to add to your knowledge, so you are “ready always to give an answer…”

Why do many say its for males only?

Numbers 15:38
Speak unto the CHILDREN of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue

בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל
Children of Israel is B’NAY Yihs-rah-EHL

It is from the word BEN, which means son, here plural, b’nay, sons … of Israel.

HOWEVER, in Hebrew grammar, as well as in the Outline of Biblical Usage in the blueletterbible.org, it includes:

son, grandson, child, member of a group

C. children (pl. – male and female)
D. people (of a nation) (pl.)

If Yah had expressly intended males only, He could have, would have used zakuwr:

In Exodus 23:17 and Deuteronomy 16:16
both say: three times a year all your MALES shall appear before Yehovah your God…

H2138 in the blueletterbible.org:
Strong’s Definitions: זָכוּר zâkûwr, zaw-koor’; properly, passive participle of H2142, but used for H2145; a male (of man or animals):—MALES, MEN-children.

Another HOWEVER,

When we search exact phrases of
the children of Israel, בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל

we find in Genesis 46:8
¶And these are the names of the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, which came into Egypt, all the B’NAY Yihs-rah-EHL:
verse 15
These are the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padanaram, WITH HIS DAUGHTER Dinah: all the souls of his sons AND HIS DAUGHTERS were thirty and three.

Exodus 1:7
And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty…

Was that the male children only who were fruitful and increased abundantly, or did the females have something to do with that?

Exodus 3:9, the cry of the children of Israel came up to Yah, because the Egyptians oppressed them. Did the female children of Israel cry out to Yah too, or only the males? Did the Egyptians only oppress the male children of Israel, or the females too.

Exodus 3:10 & 11 and Exodus 12: was Yah going to bring only the male children of Israel out of Egypt, or the females too?

Exodus 31:16-17: was the Sabbath only commanded as a perpetual covenant for the male children of Israel, or the female children as well?

Are the laws of clean and unclean animals in Leviticus 11 for only male children of Israel, or for the females as well?

Are the laws in Leviticus 16 for atonement for sin for male children of Israel only, or for female children too?

In Leviticus 18:2, is Yehovah only the God of the male children of Israel, or the female children too?

In Leviticus 19:2, are all the children of Israel supposed to be holy, or the males only?

Back to Numbers 15:38:
Yah BID, (COMMAND, CHARGE, DEMAND) the children of Israel (m & f) to wear tzitziot, throughout their generations.

It instructs us to wear them on the BORDER of our garments. It is a reminder to DO Yah’s COMMANDMENTS. Thus, in other scriptures, we find the issue is also relating to commandments, either where someone disobeyed them and is reaping the consequence, or as in Luke 8, claiming a PROMISE given in the commandments, etc…

The Hebrew word used for BORDER, from the blueletterbible.org, H3670 is

Strong’s Definitions: כָּנָף kânâph, kaw-nawf’; from H3670; an edge or extremity; specifically (of a bird or army) a WING, (of a garment or bedclothing) a flap, (of the earth) a quarter, (of a building) a pinnacle:— bird, BORDER, corner, end, FEATHER(-ed), × flying, (one an-) other, overspreading, × quarters, SKIRT, × sort, uttermost part, wing(-ed).

So let’s look at

1 Samuel 24:4 And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the SKIRT of Saul’s robe privily.

Many people assume that David literally cut off a piece of the HEM of King Saul’s robe. But he actually would have cut off a/the TZITZIT from the EDGE, HEM, BORDER of his robe… that’s where the tzitziot are attached.

What is the significance? Read the conversation between David and Saul. Saul was being wicked, trying to murder David… and without a cause. Breaking Yah’s commandments. “May Yah judge between us.” Saul wept, because he knew it represented Yah’s judgment, and he responded:

20And now, behold, I know well that thou shalt surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in thine hand.

That was the consequence of the king disobeying Yah’s commandments… he was dethroned

Another scripture is in

Zechariah 8:23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days (speaking of the end-times) it shall come to pass, that ten men (or a tithe of men) shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the SKIRT of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

Yep… there is that same word kanapf, referencing where the tzitziot are attached.

So consider this: they are used here as a SYMBOL representing Yah’s true people! If we don’t wear tzitziot, how will these end-time Gentiles recognize us, and take hold of our tzitziot if we aren’t wearing them?

This is also the answer to those who say they wear their tzitziot INSIDE their clothing. These Gentiles are NOT going to stick their hands down our pants to “take hold of them!” For that same reason, it also answers a question about women wearing them… in addition to those above.

Now let’s consider the lady in Luke 8:43-48, with the flow of blood. She

44 Came behind him, and touched the BORDER of His garment: and immediately her issue of blood stopped.

Again from the blueletterbible.org, the Greek word for BORDER:
Strong’sDefinitions: κράσπεδον kráspedon, kras’-ped-on; of uncertain derivation; a margin, i.e. (specially), a fringe or tassel:—border, hem.

Outline of Biblical Usage: *see B & C!*
the extremity or prominent part of a thing, edge, skirt, margin

the fringe of a garment

in the NT a little appendage hanging down from the edge of the mantle or cloak, made of twisted wool

a tassel, tuft: the Jews had such appendages attached to their mantles to remind them of the law

Thus we see the TRANSLATORS had made the connection between the tzitziot and the edge, border, hem, skirt of a garment.

Yes this woman wanted to be restored to a relationship with Yah and also to be back in the congregation among her family and friends. But why grab the tzitziot?

Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with HEALING IN HIS WINGS (the edge, border of His garment where the tzitziot are attached); and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

She knew the scriptures, and recognized Yeshua as that Son of Righteousness Messiah who brought healing in His tzitziot for the many others, fulfilling the scriptures that He would heal the sick, open the eyes of the blind, unstop the ears of the deaf, cleanse the lepers and the lame would leap as a hart. (Isa 35:5-6)

BY FAITH, she was claiming that PROMISE!

Verse 47 says “she declared to Him before all the people for what cause she had touched Him, and how she was healed immediately.”

That is our public testimony. Romans 10:9: if we confess with our mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and BELIEVE… she acted on her belief. What did Yeshua ask others: Do you believe? Yeshua told this woman: your FAITH has made you whole.

Also interesting is the way this scripture is portrayed in Christian vs Jewish Messianic view. The Christian picture is a woman crawling on the ground at His feet, at the bottom of His robe. No the tzitziot do not drag in the dirt! The more accurate Jewish Messianic picture is the tzitziot hanging from the edge of a talit or a shawl type of garment, as you show in your video.
