God gave Abraham the famous promise of an offspring as many as the stars. But it seems that his wife would never conceive as she grows older and older. By a miracle, she does. Their son Isaac would have the same struggle with his wife. And their son, Jacob, would have the same struggle. How could God promise a numerous offspring, yet barren women continue down the family line? Would such a promise not require fruitful women, above all else?
When it comes to God’s promises for our lives, we would expect all things to work together for His will. But why doesn’t it? And when it seems that everything that matters most goes wrong, where will our faith go?
