Some Christians have used the sacrifice of Jesus as a ‘get out of jail free’ card. If we’ve wronged someone, all we need to do is ask for God’s forgiveness, right? The Bible commands more: That restitution is paid to the one you hurt, wronged, defrauded or damaged. Whether emotionally, spiritually or physically, all of us will both experience or cause hurt. The question is, will we follow God’s mandate of resolution, or trample underfoot the sacrifice of Christ instead?
